Differences between Vector and Bitmap

In this blog post I will be talking about the two different file formats vector and bitmap and the advantages and disadvantages of them both. I will also be talking how these file types is used within certain photo editing softwares such as Photoshop, Illustrator and dream weather. 

Bitmapp is a file which is mainly used for photos and taking pictures so they will look crisp and original which can make them more presentable in certain parts of the media industry such as posters and billboards which can advertise films for the cinemas and these will be edited on photoshop.

But if you change the aspects and ratio of the photo it will make the the photo looked stretched and less professional as the image realise on pixels. If you stretch the photo or alter the size of the photo along with chaining the resolution you will be able to see pixels and this will make them image look terrible for use and it will be used for nothing and you when you see billboards around you don't see all the images pixelated and looking unprofessional. 

With Bitmap depending on the size of the photo or image it only allows you to change the aspect of the ratio so far as the pixels are a certain size. These fie types along with JPEG is used in photoshop and JPEG allows you to put images in Blogger. JPEG is used in photoshop for photographers who take photos or editors who will edit the photos or images in photoshop and the editor will make the photos look more original and realistic instead of illustration or graphic for commercial use.

Vector graphics are an image format which is used for commercial use in such products as children's books and posters such as the BFG books and posters such as The Simpsons and other animated shows. The difference between a bitmap and a vector is that vectors are illustrated shapes that can be used altered and not worry about the pixels as vectors images can be altered to a massive scale and will stay the same resolution. Vector Graphics don't take up as much computer data as bitmap imagery and Vector graphics don't lose quality when they are resized or recoloured.

However vector images are low quality images meaning that they are often used as small images with a basic colour. The type tool in both photoshop and illustrator is a vector tool as you can stretch and alter the text with out the worry of it becoming.

Graphics metafiles are useful because they hold not just Vector graphics they hold both vector and bitmap for example a photoshop file holds vector graphics with all the fonts that you can use whilst you are on photoshop and all the different tools that you can use these are all Vector graphics and the bitmap graphics such as JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, PSD, INDD, AI files that you can change your poster that you may have created on photoshop.

The image below is my vector graphic that I created on illustrator and below I have got the steps I took into making my Vector Graphic.

I am now going to illustrate the steps I took into creating my Vector Image.
1.  Firstly I took a Bitmap picture of myself to create an vector image and then opened the image up into Adobe Illustrator.
2. Secondly I began using the pen tool to draw around my face and added a skin tone so I could then add my facial features and then you could see them.
3. Once I had the structure of my head I then began adding my facial features such as my eyes face and putting the colour into my hair and going over my jumper.
4. I kept on using the same technique so I could then add my eye brows and the colour to my eyes.
5. Once I had finished the small details the indentation on the lines below my eyes is an example of a metafile which is a mixture of Vector and Bitmap.
6. After I completed this you have one simple step to make which is remove the background that you are in and you do this by using trace over which creates a A.i file which is a vector image.
7. From these 6 simple steps you will be able to develop an understanding on how to use illustrator and you will also understand how illustrator is compatible with JPEG, PDF and PNG files and the ability to create simple designs such as logos, poster designs and magazine artwork. It was also interesting to see how simple illustrator can be to use.

Conclusion

Vector graphics is used to create logos such as my Assassins creed logo that I created on my DVD sleeve and this allows us to have smoother curvature.
Bitmap imagery is mainly used for photography and video, Bitmap files are mainly compressed due to the size of the data stored on them and these are stored as Raster Imagery.
A metafile is a mixture of vector and bitmap these are also used for pieces such as posters and DVD Sleeves. 

Talk through on how I made my Magazine cover

This blog post is going to be a talk through on how I created my magazine cover. First what I did whilst I was designing my magazine cover I went on to the internet to have a look at some other Film Magazines to use as a template to design my magazine cover and I chose one called FILM and I used this as a template to design my Magazine cover. I took some inspiration from the Film magazine and I used there idea of having the title of the film at the bottom and in the same writing as the Assassins Creed Franchise and I also took from that magazine cover was there are 3 amazing issues to collect with the picture of the issues on the magazine as a selling point by showing the next 3 issues and what films will be reviewed in the magazine. I designed the rest of the magazine myself firstly with it being Assassins Creed I made the main character going into the darkness. I also put the Exclusive interview ad the New Series of Big Bang Theory Announced so you can sell the magazine to other audiences and they might want to find out about the new Big Bang Theory such as the cast of the new series and whats going to happen in a few of the episodes. I also added the Reviews on films that are coming out in cinemas myself because that might attract people to buy it so they can see the latest films due out in cinemas in the near future. I made the FILM title big and bold so it would catch the eye of people when the magazine is on the shelves in supermarkets. I also put the website on there so people can go and visit the website so they can buy the magazine online and send it to there iPad or iPhone. I really enjoyed making this magazine cover and if I was to do it again I would pick a film instead of a game and use different colours on the magazine cover. 

Talk through on how I made my DVD Sleeve

In this blog I will be talking about how I created my DVD Sleeve. Before I started making my DVD Sleeve I took inspiration from my poster so some of the things from my poster I transferred into my DVD Sleeve by keeping my background the same. What I did with my Font on the top is I also kept that the same as well but made the fonts smaller on the top to make it look more like a DVD Sleeve With the Text on the side what I did was I wrote the text and made the text smaller than what it looks like on the top of the DVD Sleeve and rotated the text and positioned the text to where I wanted the text on my page. With the picture of me when I was creating this I looked at the official Assassins creed outfit and I decided that I was going to add the Assassins creed logo onto my outfit and I ddid this by getting the image off google images and took all the white background of the background of the image and then added it to the image but I had to put it behind the image so it was not showing at first then I viewed the image properly and I moved to a position to where I wanted the image on my outfit and made the logo a bit smaller in the process of putting the logo on my outfit. When I was making all the PEGI logos what I did was took all the backgrounds out of the image and then put them to wear I wanted the logos to go and I made them a bit smaller than what they look like on my poster. With the Blurb on the back of the DVD Sleeve I used the same one I used on my poster because my poster and my DVD Sleeve were linked together and I taken a lot of inspiration from my poster I also used the same slogan from my poster on my DVD Sleeve as well but made the slogan a  bit smaller because I had to fit more information on there as well. 

Talk Through on how I made my poster

This blog is going to be on how I created my poster. What I did when I was creating my poster is firstly what I did was research about my background that I could use and I found this on google Images. I used this background because I wanted to create a dark and spooky poster and I wanted to dim my character into the background. Then what I did was I took out a camera the camera I used the take my photo was a Cannon camera I also used the green screen and I chose to wear the Jumper and put my hood up so I could not show all my face and in the Assassins creed series the character never shows his face and I have taken that approach in making my poster. After this I put my picture into Photoshop and using the magic wand I used this to take away all the green screen and I then dragged my picture into the background and I changed the colour of my picture to go with the colour of my background. With the texts what I did with my text is I downloaded it of the Da Font website and the text then downloaded into photoshop. I used the text by using the text box and made my text look like the Assassins Creed series and thats where my inspiration came from with that. With my writing at the top I used the text that was already on photoshop instead of downloading it from Da Font with it being a slogan at the top I did this by just using the text box and once I had done this I made the text bold and this would make the slogan more eye catching to my audience. With the Warner Bros logo and my PEGI rating I got them of goggle images and went through the same process with my photo of me I got rid of the white background by using the magic wand and dragged them into the poster and made the smaller. This is how I made my poster and this is the process I went through making my poster and thought it was a big success.

Production Process 

The Production Process I used was first I Researched some ideas in what my idea was going to be. First I did some research for my chosen genre I was going to base my idea on and the two I chosen was a Comedy genre or a Action genre. After this research I decided to chose an Action Genre for my idea because I thought the Comedy genre would be to difficult in creating a storyline for that certain genre that is why I chose to do an Action theme. My first idea was to do a Superhero theme such as Marvel and make something similar to the Avengers theme but I couldn't think of a story line for this and I thought that creating a Poster a DVD Sleeve and a Magazine cover for this certain film idea so I did some Research on Assassins Creed theme for my Poster, DVD Sleeve and my Magazine Cover and because I know a lot about the games I was able to come up with my own idea for my own Storyline about Assassins Creed and created my own characters for the Poster, DVD Sleeve and Magazine Cover.
When I had a good idea and Story line for my idea I stated to explore and look at different fonts  and titles and I looked at the Game covers and looked at the titles on the front of the covers and looked at the Willy Wonka DVD Sleeve and did a practice on how to change the font and make different curves on the writing using Adobe Illustrator. After I had done this I decided on using the official Assassins Creed font and I downloaded it off Da Font and put the font into Photoshop because I really like the official design instead of creating my own.
After I had came up with my idea that I was going to use for my Poster what I did was did some Research on all the Assassins Creed game covers and got some inspiration from them such as the different poses that the characters are doing in all of them and the way the characters are standing in the game covers with there Heads down so you can only just see there faces and all the backgrounds and had a look at them and came up with my own background to use and the one I used for the Poster was a dark abandoned city.
When I had my ideas for my title, background and characters  I sketched out how I would like to make my poster for inspiration for when I was going to be creating the final poster I drew the main character in the middle of the page and had the main Title underneath him and had the slogan just going above the main characters head but I altered this when I was making my final design. For my DVD Sleeve I designed that straight from the start because I already had an idea on how I was going to create the DVD Sleeve but I had a bit of inspiration from my Poster and I used the background from that into making my DVD Sleeve. For my Magazine cover I did some Research on different Magazine covers such as Total Film and Empire film magazine covers and the main inspiration for making my magazine cover was the Total Film cover and I made my Magazine cover similar to that with the big image of the main character in the middle of the page and all the text around him. I created my own title and called it just FILM to make the magazine cover stand out and make the magazine cover very eye catching.

Sources of Information 

The Sources of Information was helpful because when I was doing research it inspired me into making my Poster, Magazine Cover and a DVD Sleeve because when I was looking at all the game covers they were all inspiring me into making my DVD Sleeve, Magazine Cover and Poster. The Research inspired me when I was making my Poster because of all the different stands they have and this inspired me into doing this in my Poster. My research also inspired me when I was making my DVD Sleeve with all the different fonts that they use on the Game covers and this inspired me into having the official Assassins Creed font on my DVD Sleeve and my Poster and I also used the font for my Magazine cover as well. My research inspired me when I was making my Magazine Cover and what inspired me into making my Magazine Cover was when I was researching in different types of Magazine Covers and I found a few that inspired me into making mins similar to that one but I found one called Total Film and i really like the look of this certain Magazine Cover and made mine similar to this certain one with the big image of the main character and text around him and the title at the bottom of the page in bold. Most of the Research that I did when I was looking at Magazine Covers was on Google Images and the text I downloaded was on DA Font.

Finished Product

The finished products that I created were a Assassins Creed Movie Poster and what is on this is a dark background with the main character in the middle of the page to make him look very eye catching so then you will know who the main character is and the story of the film is based around. For my poster I added a slogan saying Last Assassin Standing this shows that he is the last Assassin standing in the film and this could show that the film will be based on the main character in the middle of the poster. Within my poster I have used the official Assassins Creed font on my poster but only on the title and used different texts for the slogan.
For my Poster what I did was similar to my poster and I made the front of my DVD Sleeve similar to the poster with the main character in the middle of the page and covering most of the page but what i did was made my text smaller and put the main title Assassins Creed The Last Descendent at the top and the slogan is on the back of the cover. What I have also done with the DVD Sleeve I made it look like a Professional DVD Sleeve with a little review on the back from the Daily Mail and the star rating that the film got. I also made the PEGI 18 rating look like it would on a Professional DVD Sleeve I also added the film company that created the film and the official DVD logo on every DVD Sleeve.
For my Magazine cover what I did was I looked at different magazine covers for a template to look at and I found a Total Film magazine cover that I found and made mine similar to that. What I did was put the main character from Assassins Creed The Last Descendent on there as the main focus for the magazine cover. I also used a dark background for my magazine cover and made my character dim into the background on one side and gradually get brighter as it goes across the magazine cover. I also added little bits of text around the main character such as Brand new Big Bang Theory Series announced and Top 10 comedy films revealed. I also added on there Exclusive interview with the actor who plays the main character in the film Assassins Creed The Last Descendent.

Effectiveness

My Poster for my film Assassins Creed The Last Descendent is effective because it is eye catching because of where it will be put around Manchester such as on Buses, Billboards and outside Cinemas people will not miss the poster and it could attract people into going to watch the film with the main character being on there in the middle of the poster covering up the page and people will get to see who it is and if they like the actor that may attract them into going to see the film. Also with the slogan Last Assassin Standing may attract people into seeing the film because it is the finale of the Assassins Creed Story.
My DVD Sleeve for the film Assassins Creed The Last Descendent is effective because if you have seen the film in the cinemas and you really like it this may attract you into buying the film on DVD when it is released. Another way it is effective is the 5 star ratings that the film has been given this can attract people into seeing the film because this shows that people think that the film is good especially if you haven't seen the film in cinemas before. Another way that my poster could be effective is that it has been created by the directors who made the Batman series and this could attract people into seeing the film because the Batman series is a very good series.
My Magazine cover is effective because it has the main character of the new film Assassins Creed The Last Descendent and this is how Magazines sell with them advertising the brand new films that are coming out. Another way it is Effective within the magazine revealing the new Big Bang Theory Series and interviews with the actor who plays the Assassin in the new Assassins Creed film and this can attract people into buying the magazine because people who like Assassins Creed or want to see the film will want to know what the film is about and there be little details in there about the film. Also people will want to know about the latest films that are coming out and people who like Big Bang Theory will want to know about when it is going to be aired on television and people will want to know the actors and what is going to happen in the series. 

Magazine Cover Analysis

This is one of the Magazine covers that I looked at in basing my magazine cover on and some of the things I have taken out of this magazine cover was the top writing and I got the idea of calling my magazine FILM from this magazine cover. One of purposes of this Magazine is to sell the brand new Star Trek film by saying that it is the Boldest and Coolest film of 2009 and with this being on the front cover it will attract and audience to buy the film magazine and make people want to buy the magazine and read about the new films that are going to be released or announced. Another Purpose of a Magazine cover would be that they can only sell the magazine if they have a new film on there such as The new Star Trek film and if they see this on there with some text on there such as exclusive interview with the main character in the new Star Trek film. Another way to sell the magazine is with the text on the side such as New How I Met Your Mother series announced read all details inside. 

This is the magazine cover that I got my inspiration from with all the test at the top with it being so bold it makes the text very eye catching and with the big image of the main character it will attract the audience to buy the film magazine. One of the purposes of this Magazine cover is to sell the magazine by advertising a brand new film because people will want to read about the new films that are going to be released in cinemas and also read about what the plot will be and who the actors are going to be in the new film. Another purpose into selling the magazine will be the text on the front of the magazine such as NEW BIG BANG THEROY and the text will be in capitals to catch the eye of people because it is a popular TV program and people will look into reading the magazine about all the new TV shows and films that are going to be released. 

This one of the other Magazines I looked at which is called EMPIRE and it is similar to the TOTAL FILM magazine with the with the big image in the middle of the magazine to attract customers into buying the magazine because the audience of the Hobbit will want to read about the film. There are other similarities to the TOTAL FILM magazine with the DARK KNIGHT RISES in the corner advertising the new Batman film in the corner and also with the reviews of TAKEN and the new RIDDICK film so people will want to buy the magazine and this is how magazines sell buy advertising new films on the front and reviews to read about. I have based mine around this because the magazine cover is similar to mine with the big image of the main character and the title at the bottom. 

Final Magazine Cover

This is my finished magazine cover that I have created to advertise my idea of a the film Assassins Creed and The Last Decsendedent. What I did before making this magazine cover was analysed some magazine covers that are similar to my idea and found a template online and created mine like that. The took out the background that I have used for my DVD sleeve and my poster that I have made and used a tool on Photoshop to make the main character on the front look like he is disappearing into the darkness into the background. 

I put a drop shadow into my title to make it stand out more when the magazine is in supermarkets so the magazine cover will be eye catching to people and they may pick up the magazine and choose to buy it and a magazine is a marketing tool to and will sell with a new film on the front this is why i have also made my main character to big so he takes up most of the page and all the focus will be on him this will help sell the magazine as well. 

I also added a drop shadow to the website on the front of the cover to also make that stand out more so people will be able to go and subscribe to the magazine for more issues. 

What I did when I added the Assassins creed symbol into the jumper is I clicked onto the layer and scrolled down to Multiply so it would look like it it attached to his jumper.

With the text I had an idea to make some of it in bold writing to make it stand out on the page and underlined the best action film to show that from the film magazine it is saying that the new Assassins Creed film is going to be the best action film of the year and this could attract people into buying the magazine and read about the best action film to come out for a while and persuade people to go and see the film. 

What I did with the 3 issues to collect was to show the next issues there going to be released and also give people an idea of what they are going to be and what films will be reviewed and interviews that will be in the new magazine. 

  

DVD Sleeve

This is my completed version for my DVD Sleeve. What i did whilst creating this is I Analysed some other Assassins Creed game covers to get some ideas from I also looked at some other DVD covers such as the Avatar and This is the end. I have used the same background for the DVD Sleeve because it is going to be similar to my DVD poster and i am going to explain how I have made my DVD Sleeve . What I did when I added the Assassins creed symbol into the jumper is I clicked onto the layer and scrolled down to Multiply so it would look like it it attached to his jumper. When i was putting the PEGI 18 symbols in there and the Warner Bros sign in there I dragged the image off google images opened it into photoshop and used the magic wand tool to get rid of the white background and dragged the image into the DVD Sleeve and used Command shift to make the image smaller. 

I did the same process when I was putting in the image of the main character using the magic wand to get rid of the green screen and drag the image into the background and made the image to the size I wanted it to be. 

I got the idea of putting the Daily Mail Review on there because if people was to see the film they would like to see a review on the film to maybe see what other people think of the film that is why I added the Daily Mail 5 Stars review on there. 

I put a gradient fill in the back of the Assassins Creed The Last Descendent so I could make the title more eye catching and make the title brighter at the top.

What I did with the text is on the spine on the cover is just wrote the text in the middle of the page and rotated the text and changed the font size so it would fit on the side. 

I made the boxes by just making a square and then taking the text out for a minute then I positioned the squares and then put all of the text back again.

When I was making the blurb on the cover all i did was got to the text tool and write what I wanted to be there made the text smaller and positioned the text where I wanted the text to go and i did the same for my slogan apart from I made the text bigger. 

Proposal for my DVD Sleeve

 Working Title

The working title of my film is Assassins Creed The Last Decedent and this will also be my final title for my DVD sleeve and it is different on a DVD sleeve because there are 3 different places to put the title on the front back and on the spine of the cover.

Format and Medium 

This DVD sleeve will be used on DVDs and also it will be used on billboards outside shops also can be used on buses showing the final cover for my DVD sleeve.


Sector

Film and marketing is to attract people to see the film and get people excited before the film is due to come out. They do this by making teaser posters to attract people to see the film and also make a teaser poster of the main character on the poster and like a little slogan on there as well. They will also do this with a little teaser trailer or advert on television to get people hooked on the idea of this film. Then a week before the poster is due out they will create a the final poster and advertisement for a week before the film is due to come out and show some parts in the film. Then when the film has been released in cinemas and gone out of cinemas they will release the final DVD Sleeve for the film and the date of where it will be released and then they will use this as a marketing tool so they will get people excited for the film to come out and then people will go out and buy it that is why they are used as a marketing tool.


Genre

My DVD sleeves genre will be is a mixture of genres and doesn't have a set Genre it has a bit of everything it has action, it is a thriller as well and is historical because Assassins Creed is based on real historical events so it will be a bit of everything.

Intended Audience

The intended audience for my DVD sleeve would be ages 16-40 because there is a lot of action and drama in there and for the older people who would watch this that it is based on historical events which they may find interesting. This is different because it is used as a marketing tool to sell the DVD.

Summary of Content

The Story line for my DVD sleeve is that Ezio the main character is the last of al the Assassins and he has to find out what happened to them and fight on his own.


Summary of Style

The DVD sleeve will look like as follows me on the front of the cover it will be similar to the poster that I have made and it will have a blurb on the back and will have the title on the side of it and a dark background for the back of it. DVD sleeves are used as a marketing tool to sell them to you and that is why they put more detail into a DVD sleeve rather then a Poster. 

Legal and ethical considerations

The main things that i will need to take into account are the age restrictions and copyright this is because i cant make the film a 12 it will have to be 18 because if all the fighting and all the swearing that would be used. Also copyright it is illegal to copy something that has already been made and i will have to make mine different so it will not be copying something that has been made or in the process of being made.

DVD Sleeve ideas

DVD sleeves have a purpose a audience a content and a reception. The intended audience of the avatar film is aimed at a certain age of 12. This DVD sleeve is to promote the film avatar to people to enable people top go out and buy the DVD Avatar this was also used to promote the film at the cinema when this film came out in the cinema 3 years ago. Another purpose of this DVD sleeve is to show the film to people and make them buy the film so this can also be used as a marketing tool.   

The audience of this DVD sleeve is mainly about the age of the film and is it appropriate for that age group. On every DVD sleeve there is a BBFC rating such as is it at the age rating of 12 or 15 so this means the film is only appropriate for this age of people. There will also be a genre for the film such as Horror, Action or ScFi. 

The content of the DVD sleeve is different because there will be a blurb on the back of the DVD sleeve  which gives you a overview on the film and what the film is about and the blurb will give some clues on what is going to happen in the film. Also on the Content of the DVD sleeve there will be the names of the actors in the film normally the actors name will be at the top in bold writing and the directors names will be in the credits will be at the end. 

With a DVD sleeve there will be a Reception such as where the film is going to be sold such as which supermarket it is going to be sold at such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisions or it can be sold at Rental stores such as Blockbuster or CEX. Also the film will be sold at the cinema where you go and pay to watch the movie before it gets released on DVD 3 months later. The different features on a poster is that there is more images on the page to advertise the film. There are normally ratings from papers saying if the film is good and is it worth watching the film or not. 

On a DVD sleeve there is a blurb on the back which gives you an overview on the film where as on a poster there isn't on a poster there is just an image and a title and just the actors names who are in the film. Another difference between the a poster and a DVD sleeve is that you can put more onto it such as images you can have them on the front on the back and you can put more onto the picture also you can have a double background you can have one on the front of the cover and you can have one on the back thats different where as on a poster it has one background.  

DVD Sleeves Purpose, Audience, Content, Reception

DVD Sleeves

Purpose :  The purpose of a DVD sleeve is to promote the film and it is used as a marketing tool to sell the film in shops such as Supermarkets, DVD stores. Another purpose of DVD sleeves is to show the film film for people who have not seen the film. l


Audience : The audience of a DVD sleeve is mainly about the age of the film and the target audience of the certain film. On the DVD sleeve it will have an age rating on it also there will be a BBFC rating on there this will be on every DVD sleeve. Also there will be a certain Gender that the film will be aimed at such as Male or Female. Also there will be the certain genre of the film such as Horror, Action, Comedy.



Content : The content in a DVD sleeve is different because there will be a blurb which is a couple of paragraphs on the back of the DVD explaining what the film is all about. On the DVD sleeve it explains what directors have made the film or who is in the film which actor is in the film such as Will Ferrel you wouldn't expect it to be nothing more than a comedy. Another thing that will be on the DVD  Sleeve is who has made the film such as DreamWorks, Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures.



Reception : With DVD Sleeves there is a Reception such as where will the film be sold will it be sold in Supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco Morrison's or will it be sold in rental stores such as Blockbuster or Cex. Films can also be sold online on Amazon or Play.com and Netflix. Films can also be sold at the cinema where you pay to go and watch the fi;m before the film goes out on DVD.

Final Poster

This is my final poster that I have made on Photoshop. What i did to start off with is finding the background that I used which is what i got off the internet and the logos that I used in the two corners I got of the internet these are the PEGI Rating and the film logo. The writing style that is used in the poster was downloaded off a website called da font so I could then make the poster look much better with the same writing as the actual Assassins Creed games. How I made this Poster is by firstly taking the photos using one of the cameras in college. Before doing this I had to look at other Assassins Creed Game Poster so i could make myself look like an Assassin with my hood up and over my head and have my head down. Next what I did was I put all the photos that I have taken using the camera and chose the one that looked the best and most like an Assassin. I put my picture onto Photoshop and used the Magic wand tool to get the background away from the picture so i could then drop it into the Background and there will be no white from the Green Screen behind me anymore. Then what i did was go onto Da Font and Download the font so i could make my writing to look exactly like the Assassins Creed game. Next when I had the writing in there and me in the background I then made the image darker using the lighting tool and make it all look darker so you can see me from the top and as it goes down it starts to get darker on me. Then what i did was i put the PEGI Rating into my Poster and the film maker which is Warner Bros and I made the Poster a 15 rating because there is a lot of action in the film. 

This is the Photo final photo that I used for my poster and I used photoshop and used the rubber tool on there to take away the green screen on the back so it will be white behind me and then dragged it into my background and positioned it to where I wanted it to be. Also I had to change the characters colour of my jumper to a grey colour by using the colour tool. 

I choose this background for my Assassins creed poster because I wanted to dim my character into darkness and this was the best background to use because I could dim my character into the background.

1. First thing we did was go to the image and click the exposure and changed the Offset and Gamma

2. I used the spot healing brush to remove the blemishes on her face

3. Next i clicked the filter and onto blur and selected smart blur

4 I then used the eraser to remove the part the looked in realistic, like her hair and eye brows.

Proposal for my Poster

This post is a proposal for the poster that i am going to make this will consist of the genre of the poster, the title for the poster, the storyline of the film, the sector as well.

Title for my poster

The title of the film poster that i am going to make is called Assassins Creed The Last Decedent. This is going to be  a movie poster advertising the new Assassins Creed film

Format and Medium

This will be a movie poster and it will be used to put on a billboards around Manchester also it will be used by cinemas outside and inside the cinema. The poster will also be advertised on the sides of buses to promote the film so it will attract people to maybe go and see the film and then the film will earn money and can be successful. This will be good so then it will get funds to maybe be produce another film after this one.

Sector

Film and marketing is to attract people to see the film and get people excited before the film is due to come out. They do this by making teaser posters to attract people to see the film and also make a teaser poster of the main character on the poster and like a little slogan on there as well. They will also do this with a little teaser trailer or advert on television to get people hooked on the idea of this film. Then a week before the poster is due out they will create a the final poster and advertisement for a week before the film is due to come out and show some parts in the film.

Working Title

The working title of my film is Assassins Creed The Last Decedent and this will also be my final title.

Genre

My film posters is a mixture of genres and doesn't have a set Genre it has a bit of everything it has action, it is a thriller as well and is historical because Assassins Creed is based on real historical events so it will be a bit of everything.

Intended Audience

The intended audience for my film poster would be ages 16-40 because there is a lot of action and drama in there and for the older people who would watch this that it is based on historical events which they may find interesting.

Summary of Content

The story line of my poster is that Ezio the main character is the last of al the Assassins and he has to find out what happened to them and fight on his own.

Summary of Style

The poster will look like the main characters stood there with his hood up and head down with the title next to him and will have a little slogan at the top of the poster and also at the bottom of the poster. The main character will not be showing his face.

Legal and ethical considerations

The main things that i will need to take into account are the age restrictions and copyright this is because i cant make the film a 12 it will have to be 18 because if all the fighting and all the swearing that would be used. Also copyright it is illegal to copy something that has already been made and i will have to make mine different so it will not be copying something that has been made or in the process of being made.

Pre Production Techniques for the creative media have there similarities and differences, there is Film, TV, non broadcast videos, radio, audio, media, web, computer games and photo imaging.

Film

Film has similarties and differences they have lots of similarities such as finance because you need to have a set budget on the film and they cant spend over that certain amount of money. Another similarity would be the editor of the film because you would need a editor because you will need someone to edit the film and you also need a editor for photography to add effects to the photo and you will need this for making a film. There are some differences because for a film you need a age certificate to show who the film is suitable for a certain audience to watch the film. Another difference is the genre of the film because you can make the film a comedy, action or ScFi film where as for photo you don't need a genre for the photo these are some of the similarities and differences for film.

Video

Video has similarities and differences they have lots of similarities such as finance because if you are making a film trailer or a music video you need a set budget of money to spend on this video or trailer. Another similarity would be actors because you need actors in the video and you need to get the right actor to play in your video or film. There aren't any differences because film and video are the same so there will not be any differences.

TV

TV also has similarities and differences such as copyright because they will not want a company copying the film that they have made so they will sign documents saying that you cant copy the film and it is also illegal. Another similarity would be target audience because you need to make a film for a certain audience such as 15-40 and they need this so they don't make a film that will not get watched and they do this in video and film. A difference would be TV licence because TV has a licence to show certain movies and shows and TVs and if the film is not suitable to be seen on TV they will not show the film that you have made. Another difference would be channel because you cant always show your film on a channel it has to be suitable to go on that channel if the film has swearing on it cant be shown till after 10 where as Sky movies and film 4 show films with swearing throughout the day.

Photo Imaging

Photo imaging has its similarities and differences such as recruitment you need to get the right crew in to take a picture say if you are doing modelling you want your best directors and photographers taking the photo and everything has to perfect like in film and video. Another similarity would be Deadlines because in the media you always have a set deadline wether it be making a film making a music video or a trailer you always have to meet your deadline and it is the same in photo imaging. A difference in Photo imaging would be equipment because you need different equipment you will need a better equipment better lighting equipment it all needs to be the best you can get. Another difference would be photographs you need to get them on posters especially if you are doing modelling for Armani you would need it on a big poster outside the store advertising there brand new product.

Radio

In Radio there are similarities and differences such as recruitment for example if you are recruiting for radio one with it being aimed at people aged 15-29 you need someone within that age and it is the same for other radio stations they will employ people in that age range. Another similarity would be Restrictions because like in films you have restrictions in what you say and you cant swear and this is the same in some films you cant swear. A difference would be in the car because you listen to the radio in the car and that is where people listen to the radio and you can watch films and videos in the car. Another difference would be pay to play song because they pay to play the songs that they want on where as films doesn't do this.

Computer Games

When making a video games there are some Similarities and Differences such as Age Certificate you need a age certificate for the game so it can be suitable for a certain age to play this game and it would be illegal if it didn't have it. Another Similarity would be Recruitment because you need to Recruit the right team to create the game and do all the editing for the game and put the music onto the game and create the cover for the game. A difference would be that you will not need a director or a producer into making the game where as you will when making a film and you will need this in a film to direct the film and also produce the film. When making a computer game you also need to think about the budget in how much you are going to spend on it for example if you are going to make a game and you have 1 million as your set budget too spend on it you cant go over that amount. Something else would be that time if you have a set release date that means that the game should be coming out by that time but they sometimes games get put backwards because they haven't finished making the game yet this can sometimes happen.

Interactive 

Interactive has its similarities and differences such as computer games because you are interacting with them you are using the controller and with the the new generation of games you can tell the Xbox, PS3 and the Wii to do what you want for example if you say play game it will play it for you. Another Similarity would be that you need a Designer a Producer people like this and say if you are making a Spanish you will need a Language Specialist to make the DVD. A difference would be Age Restrictions because you wont need a age restriction for making a language DVD for people to learn Spanish it can be for all ages. Somethings to take into account for interactive would be that for example if you are making a Spanish Learning Language DVD you would need materials to make it. Also you will need personnel to make it like a Spanish language Specialist, Editors and Designers in there to make it all by putting all the sound in there and putting everything onto a Disk by burning it on there.

Web

Web has its similarities and differences such as Age Restrictions because there isn't an age restriction to log on to the internet you can get on to the internet at any age. Another similarity would be that video because you can go onto youtube watch music videos, trailers for the latest films. A difference would be that in the in the car you cant watch videos because you wont have a very good internet connection and all it will do is buffer lots so you will not get to watch the video. Somethings to take into account would be that you have finances with the web incase you want to make a web page you will have a set budget on what you want to spend on making the web page. Another thing to take into account with web would be contributors who are you going to hire to make the web page and also are you going to contribute in making the webpage yourself.
